Windows XP Mode allows you to run Windows XP in your Windows 7 OS. Windows XP Mode is only availabe on Windows 7 Professional and Windows 7 Ultimate. However there are still factors that should be put into consideration before you can get your PC running Windows XP Mode. I have my Windows 7 Ultimate OS and I want to install XP Mode. But I must check if my PC hardware works with it using this tool from Windows 7 Website. Unfortunately, I got this message which tells that I cannot run Windows XP Mode.
But don't fret! Sun Virtual Box is here to solve the problem. I downloaded VirtualBox 3.1.0 for Windows hosts and had it working in no time. Now I am running my Virtual Windows XP simultaneously with my Windows 7. I am ready to run Windows-XP-Compatible softwares like Oracle 9i in my laptop. Thanks to Sun Virtual Box! The installation of Windows XP on Virtual Box is very easy. It is just like installing Windows XP but the difference is you are installing it in a window inside Windows 7, amazing isn't it? Later I will post a tutorial on how to install Windows XP on Windows 7. (The steps are the same if you are installing a different guest OS in a different host OS)
